How do I create a PDF?

FAQs - Website

What is PDF?

PDF (Portable Document Format) has become the defacto standard for the reliable distribution and exchange of electronic documents. PDF files can be viewed on any computer platform (PC, Mac, etc.), and you don't have to wonder whether your audience has the same version of the program you used to create the file. Anyone can open a PDF file simply by installing the FREE Acrobat Reader .

Many programs include the ability to create PDFs, so you might already be able to do so. Try printing a document, and instead of printing to a printer, see if you have something such as 'PDF Writer' or 'PDF Creator'.

How do you make a PDF (on Windows)?

Making a PDF is a simple as printing a file. In fact, any file you can print, you can also convert to PDF.  All you need to do is install two FREE programs, and then you'll be ready to create PDFs.

Install CutePDF

CutePDF is a free program which creates a connection between programs (like Word and Excel) and Ghostscript.

  1. Download  CuteWriter.exe to your computer.
  2. From your computer, double-click CuteWriter.exe, and click Install.

Print

  1. Open the file you want to convers to PDF.
  2. Select File>Print (or whatever command that program requires).
  3. From the printer selection screen, select CutePDF and then click Print.
  4. Name your file and select a location for it to be saved.
  5. Click Save.
